Welcome to Butter Belly Bake Lab LLC (“Butter Belly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By placing an order with us, visiting our website, or using our services, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Orders & Lead Time

  • Custom cake and dessert orders typically require at least 7 days’ notice.

  • Rush orders may be accepted depending on availability and may incur a rush fee.

  • All orders are accepted at our discretion.

2. Deposits & Payment

  • All orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your date.

  • The remaining balance is due the day before pickup.

  • Your order is not confirmed until payment is received.

  • We accept payment via Venmo and Zelle.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Deposits are non-refundable once the order is booked.

  • Cancellations made at least 5 days before the pickup date may receive a credit to put the paid deposit toward a future order at our discretion.

  • Cancellations made within 5 days of the event date are not eligible for refunds.

  • If we must cancel due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond our control, you will receive a full refund.

4. Changes to Orders

  • Design, flavor, or quantity changes must be requested at least 5 days before the pickup date.

  • We cannot guarantee changes after that time.

5. Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

  • Our products are made in a home kitchen operating under California Cottage Food regulations.

  • While we take care to avoid cross-contamination, our kitchen may contain allergens including dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, nuts, and other common allergens.

  • Customers are responsible for notifying guests of potential allergens.

  • We are not liable for allergic reactions.

6. Design Disclaimer

  • We do not copy another baker’s exact designs. We will use inspiration photos to create a unique interpretation in our style.

  • Colors, textures, and decorative elements may vary slightly due to materials, lighting, and ingredients.

7. Freshness & Storage

  • Cakes should be stored in a refrigerator, then brought to room temperature at least 1-2 hours before cutting for the best flavor and texture.

  • Buttercream cakes typically stay fresh for 3-4 days when stored properly.

  • Once items leave our possession, storage and handling become the customer’s responsibility.

8. Pickup & Transportation

  • Orders are pick-up only at our designated location in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (exact address provided after booking). Local delivery can be requested for a fee.

  • Customers are responsible for safely transporting their order.

  • We are not responsible for damage that occurs after pickup, including heat damage, improper handling, or accidents during transport.

Cake Transport Tips:

  • Keep cakes on a flat surface (no laps!).

  • Run the car AC for at least 10 minutes before pickup.

  • Avoid direct sunlight and long drives in warm or humid weather.

9. Photos & Social Media

  • We reserve the right to photograph all products we create and may use these images for marketing, social media, and portfolio purposes.

  • If you prefer your order not be posted until after your event, please let us know ahead of time.

10. Pricing

  • All prices are subject to change at any time.

  • Once an order is confirmed and paid, your price is locked in for that order.

11. Liability

Butter Belly Bake Lab LLC is not responsible for:

  • Customer-caused damage after pickup

  • Allergic reactions

  • Foodborne illness resulting from improper storage after pickup

  • Delivery delays caused by traffic, weather, or other factors

12. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order with Butter Belly Bake Lab LLC, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
